Review: The Resurrection Bible Study

grapevine studies review

I’ve posted before about how much we love the Grapevine Studies, so I was excited to have another opportunity to try another one of their studies.   They kindly sent us their study called The Resurrection in their Beginner Student and Beginner Traceable, Student and Student Traceable levels.

Each study leads the kids to draw stick figures of the Bible characters and events, as they listen to me read to them from the Bible.   The Scripture references are generally short – we usually read only a couple verses for each box, so the kids stay engaged and focused.  By the time they’re finished drawing, I’m ready to move on to the next picture too.

Each study begins with a big picture look at the Timeline of the era.   The kids draw in stick figures for each main character or event.  This is great to help them place the particular study and events in the grand scheme of things.   Each lesson also includes a snapshot of the Timeline.

The lesson finishes with great review questions that are fabulous for both review and comprehension.  I was amazed at how much the kids remembered and understood from the verses we had read that day.  Also at the end of each lesson is an opportunity to review the memory verse.

My kids love these studies as much as I do!   We do our best to do them during naptime for our Toddler Tornado, and, one day, I hadn’t sat down yet to start it with the kids.  They got tired of waiting for me, and pulled out their Bible and studies to do it on their own!  Super D proceeded to read the verses to Sweetheart, and they did almost a full lesson!   Not bad for an 8 and 6 year old!!   I love the time for discipleship and talking about verses with them, so I have no plans to make this an independent activity anytime soon, but I LOVED seeing their enthusiasm for it!     The Zonderkidz Faith Builders Bible is a great Bible to use with these studies.  You can see my review of it here:  Review: Faith Builders Bible.

I firmly believe that raising our kids to know the Word of God is one of the best things I can do for them.   The Bible has been such a guiding, life-giving influence for me, and I want them to have the same!   We are intentional about discipling our kids in a number of ways, and the Grapevine Studies are a fabulous tool for our toolbox.   I have tried a variety of studies, and these remain our favorites.   The kids LOVE them and really enjoy doing the studies.   They are also really learning the Word, partially because they are interacting with it visually, auditorily, and kinesthetically.

Grapevine Studies offers a lot of different levels to help you get the right fit for your kiddo.  This screenshot is great to help you decide which one(s) to get!   You can get an ebook or a physical hard copy, whichever works best for you!
